She was an Australian Paralympic cyclist and author. Shaw was the visually impaired, lost her eyesight completely at the age of 33, due to illness. Shaw competed at the Athens Paralympic Games in 2004 and won two bronze medals and at the Altenstad Paralympic Games in 2002 where earned one silver and three bronze medals. She died after a long battle with cancer on December 3, 2012.
